Matt did the home inspection of a home we are purchasing in Summerland. He is a very affable, professional and knowledgable young man. His inspection was very thorough and took about 3 hours. We then met him at the house where he spent another 30 minutes or so and took us on a walk through to highlight some of his comments. His report, which we received with 24 hours, was very detailed with lots of photos, and included an Insurance Summary section, to present to the insurer. He answered all our questions and while at the house and is available if we have any other questions. He was also very generous with his expertise in giving us tips on what to look out for in the future. Would highly recommend Matt and A Buyers Choice Home Inspections.

We can’t say enough positive things about our experience dealing with Matt and get this…it was entirely remote! We live in Ottawa but recently bought a home in Kelowna,. However, we were not there for the inspection since we aren’t moving for another 8 months. Matt patiently took us through our new home via a video call and by the end of the experience, it felt like we were there in person. He was so personable and thorough and seemed genuinely interested in educating us as much as he could. He also mentioned that he would be available indefinitely for any questions we had about our home. Matt’s report that he prepared for us was also so extensive and detailed. I felt I learned more about a home in one hour then I have for the rest of my life. Can’t recommend Matt enough. ☺️

Matt was amazing during our review of his inspection. He clearly explained everything he observed, noted the items that he was not able to address, and also pointed out cosmetic items that we had missed in our walkthrough with the builder. He was able to explain items we were not familiar with coming from a different region that are critical to the area and even gave maintenance information to ensure we knew what would be required to keep things in tip-top working order. Being a new build the inspection was different than a pre-existing home, but Matt even spoke to his experience and knowledge of those differences in a way that showed his expertise and gave us confidence that the report would be comprehensive and thorough. When the report arrived it was more than we expected and did a great job covering everything we spoke about as well as other items. Just to add another level of service, he even enrolled our appliances in a recall system that will notify us if any experience one so we can work with the manufacturer to resolve them.This is a first class service that any homebuyer should definitely leverage and existing homeowners may get a lot of value from to determine what maintenance items their homes may need. People often think of a home inspection as something they do at purchase and never consider it again, but there is a definite opportunity to bring in someone like Matt after a few years to evaluate how the home is aging and what items may be of concern that a homeowner would never notice or think of for maintenance.We cannot endorse Matt highly enough and plan on having him back at the one-year mark to see what may need attention as the house settles.
