A 2200 Snap Server from Adaptec was installed in Covington in 2005. It was designed to provide a large volume of storage at low cost with simple and flexible storage, multiplatform file sharing for Windows, Netware, Unix, Linux, and Macintosh. It installs very easily, connect it via the Ethernet cable, and turn it on

Specification Adaptec Snap Server 2200 - Network storage server - HD 250 GB x 2. Net space available with RAID 1 is 250 GB.

The Snap Server was a relatively easy devise to maintain over an web-based connection. However, within 2 years it became unstable and unreliable and would only remain connected for shot periods of time before crashing. The server was decommissioned in 2009

Another Snap Server is installed in Lancaster and is working successfully as of 2011
