Kreon can refer to the King of Thebes in Sophokles' Oidipous Rex sister of Iokaste or the King of Korinth in Jason and the Argonauts (Apollodoros) father of Creusa also known as Glauce.

In the The Labours of Herakles Sthenelos banishes Amphitryon who took refuge with Alkmena and Likynnios with Kreon at Thebes and purifies Amphitryon after the murder of his uncle.

In Euripides' Medeia, Kreon is the king of Korinth and is murdered by the vengeful Medeia.
