The thesis says that the potter may not know what they are going to produce at the end but the process of shaping and forming the clay gived the potter inspitation and tey can change the form add more water and clay as the mood takes them. He doesnt say that they cannot be formulated but formulated startgeies can lead to unrealized strategies - bad or good.
