Burghley House is a grand 16th-century country house near the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire, England (Burghley House itself is just within Cambridgeshire). It was designed by William Cecil Its park was laid out by Capability Brown. It is built with locally quarried limestone rather that the more common brick at the time
