Polydeukes or Pollux is one of the Dioscuri or sons of Zeus. His twin brother is Castor. Polydeukes was known for his skills in boxing. His mother may have beed Leda and his sister Helena. Nominally, therefore he may have been immortal. Homer mentions that every other day after his and Castor's death they would rise again and be afforded all the honors of gods.

Polydeukes was involved in three main adventures 1. The expedition against Athens 2. Jason and the Argonauts where he boxed the son of Poseidon, Amykos in the island of Bithynia 3. Battle with the sons of Aphareus. In this battle Castor was fatally injured (He not being immortal as under some accounts he had a different father to Polydeukes) and Polyduekes prayed to Zeus that he should fall with him and for that reason he lives one day under the gorund and the other with the gods.
