Sirens
Sirens were dangerous and devious femmes fatales who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.
According to Ovid (Metamorphoses V, 551), the Sirens were the companions of young Persephone and were given wings by Demeter to search for Persephone when she was abducted. However, other stories have Demeter cursing the Sirens for failing to intervene in the abduction of Persephone.
in Jason and the Argonauts Jason had been warned by Chiron that Orpheus would be necessary in his journey. When Orpheus heard their voices, he drew out his lyre and played his music more beautifully than they, drowning out their voices. One of the crew, however, the sharp-eared hero Butes, heard the song and leapt into the sea, but he was caught up and carried safely away by the goddess Aphrodite
If Odysseus was warned by Kirke to beware of the Sirens we can make a good assumption that the Sirens lived somewhere between the Anenean Isle and the Crashing Rocks, which is thought to be the strait between Sicily and the toe of Italy. Capri is known for the limestone crags called sea stacks that project above the sea and upon which you could image many ships floundering after being lured by a pretty looking island. Capril was the location for many expensive Roman villas so its reputation as a beautiful isalnd with lovely views and nice weather has been well known for a thousand years or more. For that reason I am going tp place the Sirens west of capri
